1st Day of School
School started Monday morning in my district and taking my 5 year old to Kindergarten was an almost surreal experience. It's been a while since I've been in and around the bustle of an elementary school; so entering the school's busy walkway on Monday was like a trip back in time. I suddenly recalled many of my elementary days. The smell of crayons and a hint of something sweet filled the classroom. But this did not mask the sense of nervousness and fear felt by both parent(s) and child(ren). It was really heartwarming and I was glad to be able to share that experience with my child. It obviously left an impression, since I am writing about it. I just felt like it was something to share. Labels: first day of school kindergarten
Dirty Soap
I have a confession to make. I am a reality show junkie. I watch Keeping up With the Kardashians, Real World/Road Rules Challenges, Real Housewives and yes even Jersey Shore. And it is not a guilty pleasure! They entertain me and I actually like some of the people on the shows (even though I don't know them...); so I was absolutely psyched to find out that E! was presenting a new reality series titles Dirty Soap following some daytime soap stars. To top it off, two of the stars are my favorite actors from General Hospital, the soap that I watched the longest, Kelly Monaco and Kirsten Storm. Now the fact that these are soap opera actors and in lieu of shows like The Hills and The City, I am fairly certain that this is in actuality a docu-drama. But I am alright with that, because I will still be able to see my two fave daytime actors outside of Port Charles! I am excited. So for all of you daytime soap junkies, tune in to E! this September for some reality action "soaps" style! The show is being produced by former soaps stars Kelly Ripa and hubby Mark Consuelo. If you are a soaps fan it is not news to you that they have become a dying breed. CBS has all but one soap left (I believe) as does NBC. ABC will be ending All My Children and I'm not sure how long General Hospital has left on air. So I guess the couple decided to follow the lives of the hottest actors from these vanishing soaps and give us some more drama unscripted (well not much anyway).

Put it to good use -- Revisiting Old Items
So I decided to crack open my Coastal Scents shadow/blush palette. Those full pans haven't seen the light of day in quite some time. I don't know if it's time or experience or what [for that matter] but I really am liking the palette now. When I first got it a few years ago, I wasn't exactly over the moon about the product. But now, somehow I appreciate it more and am glad that I still have it in my collection.
In actuality my cousin's upcoming nuptials prompted me to look at the forlorn palette. I wanted to play around with some neutrals and see what I can work with for the wedding. This is one of the first of a few looks that I have done and plan to do in the future. Although I think that I will use the shadow/blush palette along with my 120 palette on wedding day.
